UBS Global Council Church Relation Committee’s Visits Amity Printing Company

On the morning of 24th Oct 2018, Prof Jutta Henner, Chairperson of Church Relation Committee (CRC), General Secretary of Austrian Bible Society and Revd Dr John Chew, Honorary Consultant of UBS China Partnership (UBSCP) as well as 6 other members of the delegation visited Amity Printing Company (APC), accompanied by Mr Kua Wee Seng, Director of UBSCP and Board Director of APC.

The mission of CRC is to maintain and develop UBS’s relationship with Christian churches and denominations all over the world. Their members hold key positions in their respective churches such as His Eminence Cardinal John Onaiyekan, Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, Nigeria, His Grace Most Revd Dr Jackson Ole Sapit, Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya, Dr Rosalee Velloso Ewell, Executive Director of the Theological Commission, World Evangelical Alliance, Prof Alexander Schweitzer, Executive Director for Bible Ministry, UBS Global Mission Team. Mr Qiu Zhonghui, Director of AF, Ling Chunxiang, Secretary-General of Amity Foundation (AF), Ms She Hongyu, Vice Secretary- General of AF and Mr Liu Lei, CEO of APC gave a warm welcome to the delegates.

 

During the delegation’s tour of the exhibition atrium and the production workshop, they learned about the production process of Bible. The guests were impressed with the new binding designs, the employment of new technology and use of new materials for the production of Amity products. Members marveled at the high-quality Bibles produced efficiently by such a large, modern printing press in China.

 

Vice Secretary- General She Hongyu introduced guests to the work of Amity Foundation and shared about the latest development of the printing press. During the interactive exchange between guests and host, there was sharing about the origin of Amity’s name and explanation of the product range as well as a discussion on how the APC and AF collaborated in providing social welfare and charity projects. The delegation expressed that they had gained a deeper understanding of the work of AF and APC through the visit.  They also thanked APC for its work in the Bible ministry for Christian churches and different denominations, and looked forward to more cooperation in social services in the future.
