On 7th June, 2019, the Enterprises with Foreign Investment Dragon Boat Challenge 2019 was held in Baijiahu 1912 international block. 22 teams from various of industries in Nanjing attended this race. Amity dragon boat team won the 8th place overall with a performance of 2'41'' after a fierce competition, adding an extra happiness of success to this year's Dragon Boat Festival.
Amity dragon boat team is composed of 18 staff from The Amity Foundation and Amtiy Printing Company. From May 7th to Jun 7th, all the team members conducted 10 training sessions without affecting their work with great support on training funds and logistics from the company. The newly formed Amity dragon boat team overcame the challenge such as more new members and less time for training. The new and old members encouraged and helped each other through constantly studying the competition strategy and adjusting and improving the skills, the whole team fully displayed the Amity spirit ofsolidarity and friendship!
The hard work of the team members paid off on the day of the chalnge. At 9:45, all teams started the fierce competition of 500-meter straight track racing with a principle of “friendship first, competition second”. Amity dragon boat team members bended to the oars in the fifth group, third track, with the chants and screaming of the families and friends of Amity. The team members worked hard and gained team cohesion and the spirit of solidarity and friendship through this competition full of warmth. They look forward to achieve better results in the next year's competition!
