On the afternoon of May 15, 2025, to recognize organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to scientific and technological advancements in the printing and equipment industry, encourage the development of proprietary core technologies, and promote industry-wide transformation, upgrading, and innovation through technological progress, the China Printing and Equipment Industries Association (PEIAC) awarded the 2023 and 2024 PEIAC Science and Technology Awards during its 2025 Technology Summit. More than 200 attendees, including representatives from printing companies, printing equipment manufacturers, material suppliers, and academic & research institutions, witnessed this prestigious event (with an additional 12,000 online viewers via live stream).
The PEIAC Science and Technology Award was established in accordance with the “China’s Regulations on National Science and Technology Awards” and “the Administrative Measures for Science and Technology Awards Established by Social Forces”, following official application, approval, registration, and filing with the National Office for Science & Technology Awards (NOSTA). Since its inception in 2018, the award has been presented seven times, recognizing a total of 163 projects that have significantly contributed to advancing printing, equipment, and material technologies, setting benchmarks for innovation across the entire printing industry chain.
No pains, no gains
At the ceremony's opening, Mr. Yang Minqiang, Vice Chairman of China Printing and Equipment Industries Association (PEIAC), announced the list of award-winning projects for the 2023 and 2024 PEIAC Science and Technology Awards. In accordance with the "Administrative Measures for PEIAC Science and Technology Awards," a total of 41 projects were selected as winners for these two award cycles.

The corresponding awarded projects were, in order: High-Quality Anti-Counterfeiting Printing Dual-Drum Laser Plate-Making Complete Equipment, Key Technology and Industrialization of "Oil-to-Water" Conversion for Intaglio Printing, and Quantum Dot Information Encoding and Decoding Methods for Printing.

The corresponding awarded projects were, in order: Key Technology Development for Intelligent Perfect Binding Line Based on New-Generation Control Systems, An Acrylate Polymer Emulsion and Its Preparation Method, Research on In-Depth Comprehensive VOCs Emission Reduction Technology for the Packaging and Printing Industry in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, and Intelligent Manufacturing Technology and Applications for Flexible Packaging Based on Smart Sensing.
The corresponding awarded projects were, in order: Key Technologies and Equipment for Fully Automated Flexible Manufacturing of Premium Mobile Phone Boxes, Multi-functional High-speed Intelligent Printing Press with Interchangeable Offset and Flexo Printing Capabilities, Shield M-Series Color Digital Inkjet Printing Press, UV Printing Blanket Digital Case-making Machine, FP5000TD Model Rapid Reverse Transfer Dyeing Machine, Intelligent Prepress and Printing Full-process File/Image Comparison Quality Inspection System for Publications, and Flexographic Dot 3D Structure Measurement Technology.
The PEIAC Science and Technology Awards Ceremony is not only a celebration of innovative achievements but also a significant milestone in the technological advancement of China's printing industry. The awarded projects fully demonstrate groundbreaking innovations in intelligent, green, and digital transformation, injecting strong momentum into the industry's upgrading.
